Liverpool win Champions League: How the Reds made it to Madrid and then beat Spurs in the final


They lost more games in the Champions League than the Premier League this season, but Liverpool lifted the European Cup for the sixth time after reaching the final in spectacular fashion.

Jurgen Klopp got his side to the biggest game in Europe for the second successive season, where they faced Tottenham looking for redemption after losing to Real Madrid 12 months ago.

A ninth final appearance looked dodgy early one when they lost all three away games in the group stage, but they flexed their muscles against Porto and Bayern Munich in the knockouts before that truly epic encounter with Barcelona.
