Lucinda Russel has plenty of previous when it comes to quality staying novice hurdlers and her DERRYHASSEN PADDY (7/2 general) looks well up to going close in the opening race at Windsor.
The six-year-old point winner was classy enough to win a bumper on Rules debut at Ayr last February and maintained his unblemished record with a maiden hurdle success over two and a half miles at Uttoxeter in November.
Having successfully conceded 5lb to Paul Nicholls' Farland that day, with a subsequent maiden winner (Roaring Conquest) back in fourth, the form should be respected and the first go at three miles around here could bring out marked improvement.
