CAROL SAID NO has had three chances to earn her diploma and can take finally take advantage in the maiden claimer for juvenile fillies carded as race six at Laurel Park.
This $100,000 purchase, the most expensive in the field, makes the journey a little farther south after racing at both Aqueduct and Monmouth Park. This looks an interesting spot her British-born trainer Thomas Morley has landed her in.
Her best effort came over a previous try at today’s similar distance of five-and-a-half furlongs on the dirt at Monmouth two back when almost going wire-to-wire, beaten just a nose. The third from that race has since gone on to score in her next two starts.
She debuted on the turf at Aqueduct when unplaced and, when last seen in September on the main track at that venue in the slop, took a hefty bump at the start and trailed throughout.
There must still be expectations with her given her auction price and she surely has a chance on her Monmouth effort. With a clean break this time she can play a part once again.
