Timeform highlight two horses of interest at Newcastle this evening.
Brummel has recorded two of his three wins on the all-weather, and his record on an artificial surface on the whole is a positive one, proving better than ever when winning over five furlongs at this course last week.
He was easy to back on that occasion, but was always travelling well, and he also overcame to trouble in running to win handsomely. Brummel was short of room over a furlong out, but displayed a nice turn of foot soon after, produced to lead well inside the final furlong and easily moving clear.
The return to six furlongs shouldn't pose a problem and he's well treated turned out under a 6lb penalty.
Monsieur Kodi has been knocking on the door for a while and he made the most of a good opportunity when resuming winning ways over this trip at Chelmsford a fortnight ago.
That race wasn't as competitive as the ones he's used to plying his trade in and he found plenty for pressure to win in good fashion. A subsequent 3lb rise in the weights leaves him well treated on the pick of his form and he remains one to be interested in.
